Charge air coolers (CACs) perform heavy duties in marine, off-road and stationary diesel, and gas engines.
Over time pollutants in the combustion air and cooling circuit can cause corrosion and a buildup of deposits in the fins and tubes.
This can lead to a strong loss of performance and/or to a total failure of the unit.
It can also happen that fins inside the heat exchanger bundle come loose or water leakages occur. In both cases, quick and correct action is required.

Kelvion offers a professional and sustainable refurbishment of charge air coolers.
Depending on the respective condition of the units and the severity of the pollution and corrosion, we offer different levels of refurbishment. Starting with Level 1 (focusing on cleaning and repair), up to Level 4 (exchange/replacement of the whole unit).
But in between we can also carry out cooler retubing. When cleaning is no longer sufficient, a retubing is the next and most sustainable method of charge air cooler refurbishment.
